Near Mogilev, an 18-year-old drunk driver overturned a car with five teenagers inside

A criminal case has been opened against the 18-year-old driver, who was responsible for a serious traffic accident. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

The accident occurred on the morning of August 25 in the village of Guslyanka, Mogilev district. The young man, who had only three months of driving experience, was driving a Peugeot car. On a curve in the road, he exceeded the speed limit and drove off the roadway, after which the car overturned.

In addition to the driver, there were five teenagers in the car. A 16-year-old girl, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.

Medical examination showed that the driver's blood alcohol level was over 0.8 per mille.

The young man's actions are classified under part 4 of article 317 of the Criminal Code. He has been charged, and pre-trial detention has been chosen as a preventive measure based on the prosecutor's sanction.
