Late in the evening on August 29, as a result of a Russian drone attack in Kyiv, a 12-story residential building in the Obolonskyi district caught fire, reports "Ukrainska Pravda".

At 22:07, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a drone fell on the territory between residential buildings. Later it became known that a fire broke out on the second to fifth floors of one of the 12-story buildings. Emergency services are working on site.
Also, a large fire broke out after a drone attack on Trukhaniv Island on the Dnipro. The exact target object is not yet known.

This was not the first attack on the capital on August 29. During the day, a Russian drone hit a non-residential building in the Podilskyi district, and in the Obolonskyi district, cafes were damaged and a two-year-old girl died as a result of a drone fall. Injuries were also reported.
In total, the number of casualties in Kyiv after drone attacks for the day reached eight people. Additionally, a non-residential building in the city was hit again, and a private residential building in the Dniprovskyi district caught fire in the evening after drone debris fell.
According to the information from the Ukrainian Air Force, throughout August 29, Russia attacked Ukraine with 224 strike drones, most of which were directed towards Kyiv.

Посольство назвало ситуацию в сфере безопасности на всей подконтрольной киевскому режиму территории «крайне нестабильной», и особо указало, что вскоре условия могут ещё более ухудшиться, причём «резко и внезапно».
В опубликованном там же перечне рекомендаций, американских граждан, находящихся в данный момент на Украине, предостерегли от участия в массовых мероприятиях, от нахождения в толпе, а также призвали без промедления реагировать на сигналы воздушной тревоги, на звуки громких взрывов и сразу же искать ближайшее убежище.
