Water Temperature in Belarusian Bodies of Water Reaches 25 Degrees
As of August 10, the water temperature in Belarusian rivers ranges from 14 to 25 degrees. In other bodies of water, the water has warmed up to 20–24 degrees. Such data were provided by the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Control of Radioactive Contamination and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Meanwhile, water levels continue to fall on most rivers in the country. Within a day, they decrease mainly by 1–20 centimeters.
Conversely, an increase in water levels has been recorded on certain sections of the Dvina and Viliya, as well as on the Drut and Svislach rivers. There, the water rises mainly by 1–5 centimeters within a day.
On the Ros River, which is a tributary of the Neman, near the village of Studzyanets, the water level exceeds the floodplain mark.
On a number of major rivers, the water level has already fallen below the marks that restrict navigation. This applies to the Dvina near Vitebsk, the Neman near Grodno, the Dnieper near Mogilev, Zhlobin, Rechytsa, and Loyew, the Berezina near Babruysk and Svietlahorsk, the Sozh near Krychaw, Slaŭharad, and Homiel, as well as the Pripyat near the village of Chernichy and Mazyr.
According to hydrologists' forecasts, a further decrease in water levels will prevail on the rivers of Belarus in the coming days.
