Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that North Korean-made ballistic missiles were used during today's overnight Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia. According to the Ukrainian side, six people died and 19 more were injured as a result of the attack.

Zelenskyy claims that Russia struck Zaporizhzhia with North Korean ballistic missiles, Zircon missiles, and guided aerial bombs. According to him, the attack was aimed at inflicting maximum damage on civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian president also stated that military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK continues to expand. According to his information, Moscow has already received a new batch of ballistic missiles from Pyongyang and is preparing to deploy an additional North Korean military contingent on its territory. Ukrainian authorities estimate its possible number at 30-50 thousand people, but the source of this information is not specified.
Russia and North Korea significantly strengthened military ties after signing a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in 2024. After this, Pyongyang began to provide Moscow with broader military support, and North Korean servicemen were involved in battles in the Kursk region.
The use of ballistic missiles creates additional problems for Ukrainian air defense. Such missiles can only be intercepted by specific systems, including American Patriot complexes. At the same time, Ukraine faces a shortage of interceptor missiles.
In addition to Zaporizhzhia, Russian troops attacked Kyiv and the Dnipropetrovsk region on the same night. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced a group strike with high-precision ground-based weapons on military-industrial complex facilities and transport and logistics infrastructure in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to local authorities, Russian drones and artillery attacked five districts. Three people died, and five more were injured.
