Ukrainian drones «destroyed» a US armored brigade in military exercises
Ukrainians «destroyed» equipment so quickly that American units had to be returned to the exercises as new, so that the maneuvers simply wouldn't stop.
At the Combined Resolve military exercises in Germany (they took place in April-May this year), Ukrainian drone operators «destroyed» an American armored brigade.
About 3,500 American servicemen participated in the exercises, primarily from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division. Their task was to attack a position defended by the forces of a simulated enemy, reinforced by Ukrainian servicemen from the 412th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces «Nemesis», reports The Wall Street Journal.
American armored vehicles raised dust and were easily visible to Ukrainian reconnaissance drones. Reconnaissance was followed by bomber drones and FPV drones (kamikaze drones).

By the end of the two-week exercises, the Americans began to operate better — they learned to disaggregate, camouflage, and more actively use electronic warfare (EW). The Ukrainians later also switched sides and helped the Americans themselves effectively use drones in offense.
This is not an isolated incident: American and allied forces (Great Britain, Estonia, Sweden) had already suffered similar defeats from Ukrainian drones in exercises in the Baltic countries and Sweden.
NATO Supreme Commander Alexus Grinkevich noted that after the exercises with the Ukrainians, the progress of the American troops is «impressive».
Elliot Cohen, a research fellow at the analytical Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), believes that the American military has not yet managed to master drone warfare at an adequate level.
