In the German city of Vechta, located in the state of Lower Saxony, an accident occurred involving a vehicle driven by a Belarusian. This was reported by local police, the website «Belarus and the World» writes .
The accident happened on Wednesday, August 12, around 13:13 on highway B 69.
For reasons yet unknown, a Volkswagen Cross Polo passenger car, with a 21-year-old resident of Visbek behind the wheel, veered left from its lane and collided head-on with a truck, in whose cabin was a 55-year-old Belarusian.
The driver of the passenger car was trapped in the vehicle. She was freed using special tools by rescuers who arrived at the scene. The woman was taken by helicopter to the hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
Due to the investigation and clearing of the accident site, the road was closed for approximately three and a half hours. Traffic was diverted.
