140 entrepreneurs, company owners and managers, top managers, representatives of business clubs, the banking sector, industry, trade, IT, construction, and other spheres were invited to visit the Palace of Independence on August 26. Moreover, it was a Wednesday — a day on which Lukashenka has traditionally not appeared in public for a long time. Therefore, the role of the palace host was performed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchyn.
First, the meeting participants were given a tour of the palace, and then Alexander Turchyn addressed them.
Among the meeting participants, Igor Anishchanka, head of "Beltyazhmash", Ivan Dabudzko, head and minority owner of "Morozprodukt", Alexander Matveichev, director of "Pneumatechcenter", Dmitry Kalistratov, head of the "Zhuravlinny Krik" (Crane's Cry) farm, and others were noticed.
During the conversation, Alexander Turchyn stated that the government intends to support Belarusian manufacturers but does not plan to simply restrict imports. At the same time, the fight against low-quality imported products, according to him, will intensify.
The Prime Minister emphasized that there should be fair competition in the Belarusian market, and consumers must be protected from low-quality goods.
Businessmen also discussed the development of farms and tourism, financing innovative projects, digitalization, and the use of artificial intelligence in production.
The issue of price regulation was specifically addressed. Turchyn urged businesses to approach price formation responsibly and not to prioritize excessive profitability over consumer interests. He warned that the authorities would not want to reintroduce previously excluded items into the list of regulated goods. For this, according to him, businesses should independently adhere to a reasonable pricing policy.
