Minsk resident, who helped search for lost animals, sentenced for politics
Alena Yurkevich from Minsk was an active participant in chats for finding lost pets, and recently worked in a pawnshop. But recently, the 44-year-old woman was sentenced for "abetting extremist activity".

Alena Yurkevich is 44 years old. She lives in Minsk. The woman has a husband and a daughter.
Alena used to do manicures, but in recent years she changed her field of activity and went to work in a pawnshop.
The woman loves animals very much. She helped search for lost animals online and was active in various thematic communities.
Alena Yurkevich was sentenced under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, abetting extremist activity. The persecution is likely related to the Gayun case.
She was sentenced to house arrest.
