Overnight, Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region. According to eyewitness reports, fires broke out in various districts of the Russian capital, and thick smoke rose over the city.
Russian authorities reported that 137 drones were intercepted on approach to Moscow.
Several drones managed to reach the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya in the northeast of the city.
Residents of Kapotnya and neighboring districts complain of an "almost black sky".
In Zhukovsky, a city southeast of Moscow, a drone hit a multi-story residential building. The seventh entrance on the 25th floor, near the exit to the fire escape, was damaged. Two balcony slabs collapsed. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
Debris from one of the drones fell on the territory of the Sadovod shopping center in Moscow, damaging one of the buildings.
In Kotelniki, after the debris fell, the roof of the Belaya Dacha shopping center caught fire.
The consequences of the attack were also noted in Chekhov, Kryukovo, Elektrostal, and Pavlovsky Posad — settlements in the Moscow region. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties there.
A large traffic jam formed on Besedinskoye Highway in southeastern Moscow this morning.
Due to the drone attack, 527 flights were canceled and delayed at all Moscow airports.
