42-year-old Minsk resident to be tried for comments he left in 2021
He is to be punished for "insulting" Lukashenka.
The 42-year-old resident of the capital had no criminal record. Now the man is accused of publicly insulting Lukashenka and deputies.
According to investigative materials, from August to December 2021, the Minsk resident left "insulting comments" in various Telegram chats. The statements concerned Aliaksandr Lukashenka, as well as members of the Council of the Republic.
The man explained his actions by saying that at the time he succumbed to negative emotions that arose in him after reading critical publications on the internet.
A criminal case was opened against the Minsk resident.
The prosecutor's office reported that the man fully admitted his guilt and repented. He is now awaiting trial.
