The KGB has included 38-year-old former journalist Ales Liubianchuk in the list of "terrorists". He was convicted under Article 130 of the Criminal Code — "incitement to hatred". Inclusion in the list means the verdict has come into force.
According to information from "Viasna", Liubianchuk has already been released — in May 2026.
This is already the second term for the former journalist. He was first arrested in May 2022. For cooperation with "Belsat", he received 3 years in a penal colony — participation in the activities of an "extremist formation". Ales Liubianchuk fully served his sentence in a Mahiliou penal colony and was released in January 2025.
In August 2025, he was arrested again. Most likely, he was sentenced to a term that would be limited to the time spent in pre-trial detention.
