Former political prisoner Karyna Pratashchyk, who got pregnant while still in the penal colony, gave birth to a son in Germany

Former political prisoner Karyna Pratashchyk gave birth to a son. The Freedom Women project shared the joyful news.

The baby was born on June 20, 2026, in Dresden, Germany. He was named Arseny. The baby's birth weight was 3370 grams, and height was 53 centimeters.

Karyna Pratashchyk found out about her pregnancy only after her release, or more precisely, after her deportation from the country. At that point, she was already five months pregnant.

Karyna Pratashchyk, an employee of "Peleng", was arrested in 2024. In February 2025, she was sentenced to 2 years in prison for "calls to cause harm to Belarus".

In December 2025, she was forcibly deported from Belarus among 123 political prisoners.
