The Executive Board of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has decided to lift all previous restrictions for Belarusian athletes. Now, Belarusian weightlifters of all age categories will be able to participate in international competitions under the auspices of the IWF.

The federation noted that the decision was made in accordance with the recent recommendations of the International Olympic Committee.
Previously, in 2026, participation in international tournaments had already been allowed for Belarusian youths and juniors. Now, this decision also applies to adult athletes. Participation in competitions will be carried out in accordance with the current criteria and requirements of the IWF.
Previously, the International Olympic Committee announced the easing of restrictions on Belarusian athletes, after which a number of international sports federations began to adopt similar decisions.
