The France national team defeated Norway with a large score of 4:1 in the third-round match of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The main hero of the match was Ousmane Dembélé, who had already scored a hat-trick by the 32nd minute. He opened the scoring in the 7th minute, doubled the lead in the 20th, and scored his third goal 12 minutes later.
The Norwegians responded with a goal from Tello Osgar in the 21st minute, and in the second half had a chance to reduce the deficit, but Jørgen Strand Larsen failed to convert a penalty. Désiré Doué set the final score in stoppage time.
Following the group stage, France secured first place in Group I with a maximum possible nine points. Norway, having accumulated six points, finished second and also advanced to the playoffs.
In the Round of 16, the French will face one of the following teams: Scotland, Paraguay, Sweden, Belgium, or Cape Verde. Norway's opponent at this stage is already known — the Ivory Coast national team.
