Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained why he decided to issue a public ultimatum to Lukashenka.

According to the Ukrainian president, he had been conveying the demand to dismantle repeaters for Russian drones in the Brest and Gomel regions through unofficial channels for a long time. However, there was no reaction.

"When I do something publicly, I first take certain steps towards de-escalation non-publicly. This is my strategy. At the intelligence and military level, Belarus, at the leadership level, received information: stop helping the Russians.

The story with the repeaters is not yesterday's story. It is a long process, behind which stand victims exclusively from Ukraine. Technically, they coordinate and help Russian and Iranian drones strike the Ukrainian population. This is what is happening," Zelenskyy said in an interview with TSN.

According to him, Lukashenka received this information. And he must act, not apologize.

"Lukashenka must, in addition to words, demonstrate de-escalation. Not just with the words 'I apologize.' He should keep his 'I apologize' to himself. It doesn't work after the first day of the war. I explained this through our intelligence and security service. We have contact at various levels.

I explained to him: a demonstration of concrete steps is needed. Step number one - no technical support. Turn off the repeaters, remove them and show us that they are removed. And we have closed this issue," Zelenskyy said.

Since there was no reaction to the unofficial warnings, the matter escalated to a public ultimatum.

"Since this was conveyed to them repeatedly, we moved to the stage of a public signal. If he doesn't remove them - we will remove them. This will happen within a week. Either them, or us," Zelenskyy stated.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he has not yet received any reaction to his statement. At the same time, he is not interested in Lukashenka's public words, but only in actions. This also applies to fuel supplies for the Russian army.
