In Sweden, a young man armed with a sword attacked a school and injured three people. Police shot the attacker in the leg during the arrest.
An 18-year-old boy in armor and with a sword came to a gymnasium in the town of Fagersta.
During the attack, he injured two teenagers and one adult. All three sustained serious injuries, but their condition is assessed as stable.
Due to the danger, several nearby schools were temporarily closed. Dozens of police officers arrived at the scene. During the arrest, law enforcement officers shot the attacker in the leg, after which he was apprehended.
According to local media, the 18-year-old boy previously attended this school himself. It is also reported that he had mental health problems and had been undergoing treatment for some time.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson expressed regret over the "serious incident" in Fagersta, which occurred immediately after the end of the summer holidays.
The motive for the attack has not yet been established. Police are investigating the incident and, in particular, are reviewing CCTV footage.
