384 Tourists Missing in Nepal Flood

At least 384 tourists are reported missing after a sudden flood on the Bhote Koshi River in the Rasuwa district of northern Nepal. Among them are 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepalese citizens, reports the Nepal Tourism Board.

At least eight people have died as a result of the powerful flood, BSS News portal reports, citing a police representative.

Among the foreign nationals listed as missing, the majority are citizens of India — 105 people. Another 37 people are of Indian origin but are not Indian citizens.

The list also includes citizens of Australia, the Netherlands, the USA, Malaysia, Great Britain, and South Africa. The citizenship of the remaining missing tourists is being determined.
