A Minsk resident, instead of a taxi, went home from a party in a companion car. It cost him more than 400 rubles
A 33-year-old man contacted the police after seeing that his online banking account was blocked.
The man said that he was returning home from a bar on Zybitskaya Street at night but couldn't call a taxi. Drivers couldn't determine his location and refused the order.
Then he saw a car stopped by the road and asked the unfamiliar driver to give him a ride home. The Minsk resident promised to transfer money for the trip later at the usual taxi fare. The driver agreed.
When they arrived home, the passenger accessed online banking from his phone and asked the driver to enter his bank card number himself and transfer the payment.
The 19-year-old driver took advantage of the situation and transferred more than 400 rubles to himself — significantly more than they had initially agreed upon for the trip. After that, he returned the phone to the owner and left.
The police identified the young man. Now he will have to compensate for the damage caused. In addition, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
