Head of Gomel Region Called Zelenskyy's Ultimatum an Attempt to Quell the Wave in Connection with the Bus Attack in Bryansk Region

Volodymyr Zelenskyy's ultimatum-statement addressed to Belarus and Lukashenka is an attempt to quell the wave in the situation with the shelling of a bus with children in the Bryansk region. Ivan Krupko, chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, drew attention to this in a conversation with journalists following his report to Alexander Lukashenka, writes BelTA.
"This pressing issue could not be avoided during the report. And the head of state was interested in how people are reacting to it, how the situation is developing," said Ivan Krupko.
"Analyzing various opinions and comments from people, Volodymyr Zelenskyy probably needed to quell the wave in the situation with the bus shelling, where our children were injured. A new wave has risen with a question that virtually doesn't exist. We understand that these tricks, these ruses, divert attention from the main topic that residents of the Gomel region and the whole country are discussing today – the tragedy with the bus. This situation is receiving a harsh assessment from people," noted Ivan Krupko.
On Wednesday, June 17, a bus carrying children from the football team of Children and Youth Sports School No. 2 of Rechytsa, as well as students of a private dance studio, was damaged in the Bryansk region.
According to Russian authorities, the strike was allegedly carried out by a Ukrainian drone.
As a result of the incident, a woman accompanying the group of children and who was the wife of the team's coach died. Eight other people, including six children, sustained injuries of varying severity. On Thursday and Friday, all injured were transported to Belarus.
We remind that on Friday evening, the deadline for Zelenskyy's ultimatum to Lukashenka expires: the Ukrainian leader ordered to remove signal repeaters on the border that correct the work of Russian drones.
"Lukashenka must, in addition to words, demonstrate de-escalation. Not just with the words 'I apologize.' He can keep his 'I apologize.' It doesn't work after the first day of the war. I explained this through our intelligence and security services. We have contact at various levels.
I explained to him: a demonstration of concrete steps is needed. Step number one – no technical support. Turn off the repeaters, remove them, and show us that they are removed. And we will close this issue," said Zelenskyy.
