The famous bison near the M1 highway finally started to "breathe"

The famous bison near the M1 highway in the Brest region has transformed from a simple roadside monument into a modern tourist attraction. After a large-scale modernization, the sculpture gained interactive effects and even its own website.

The renovation began several years ago. In 2022, it was decided not just to repair the monument, but to make it more realistic. The bison was given detailed fur, voluminous facial features, and a special "living gaze" effect. Now its eyes can blink.

The area around the sculpture was tidied up, a parking lot was created, and a composition with the inscription "Brest Region" was installed. Thanks to this, the spot has become a popular point for photos and stops during travels.

As of June 19, 2026, the bison has acquired another unusual feature — it has started to "breathe". A special system was installed inside the sculpture, releasing a cloud of steam from its nostrils, simulating the animal's breath. The height of such an "exhale" reaches approximately 5.5 meters.

For tourists, a special online service has been created where one can see a timer until the next "inhale" and plan their visit in advance to observe this spectacle. Interestingly, the service operates in four languages — in addition to the predicted Belarusian, Russian, and English, there is also Chinese.

In the future, the organizers also plan to choose an official name for the bison.
