Head of "Marko" explained how sanctions affect Vitebsk footwear

Pavel Martynau, General Director of the "Marko" holding and deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council, complained in the program "On Call Deputy" that it has become more difficult for the enterprise to work due to sanctions, noted the Telegram channel "Vitebsk, I'm walking!"

According to the businessman, components can now take 3-4 months to reach Vitebsk, so production has to be planned well in advance. And for the footwear market, this is a problem: fashion is fast, goods are needed "today and now".

Martynau explains that launching a new model can stretch for almost a year: just manufacturing the technological matrix takes about six months, plus delivery. During this time, one might misjudge the fashion, fall behind competitors, or enter the market only when the model has to be sold at discounts and losses.

He specifically mentioned Italy, where he himself studied footwear manufacturing. Previously, "Marko" actively sourced materials and components there, but now, according to Martynau, cooperation has significantly decreased: "we work with Italy, but it's very little", many Italian partners refuse to work under current conditions.
