A signal about a fire in a Grodno preschool institution on Dzerzhinsky Street was received at number 112 on the afternoon of June 22, reports the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

To eliminate the consequences of the incident, 10 units of Ministry of Emergency Situations equipment were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescuers found that the cause of the smoke and the activation of the fire alarm was a short circuit in an electric stove.
Kindergarten staff independently extinguished the fire using fire extinguishers. The administration of the institution evacuated 54 people, including 36 children. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Ministry of Emergency Situations employees additionally inspected the premises and confirmed that there was no threat of a re-ignition.
