Belarus is developing a highly maneuverable vehicle for rescuers, reported Ivan Polyavoda, head of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at a meeting of the joint board of rescue departments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia in Nesvizh.
According to Ivan Polyavoda, in recent years, Belarus, in close cooperation with domestic manufacturers, has created a system for developing main and special vehicles, as well as high-altitude equipment. The range of such equipment includes several dozen modifications and covers various tasks. The main focus is on MAZ chassis, which helps reduce dependence on foreign manufacturers.
The most relevant direction now is the creation of a highly maneuverable tanker truck based on a special small-sized all-wheel-drive chassis. It is intended to increase the mobility of rescuers in conditions of dense urban traffic and cluttered courtyard areas.
The project is planned to be implemented in two stages. First, vehicles with a classic layout will be created. A prototype of such equipment has already been presented at the international security exhibition in Kazan, and its implementation is scheduled for 2027. In the second stage, starting from 2028, a fundamentally new vehicle with a hybrid drive and a bus layout is planned to be developed.
Another priority is the implementation of information technologies in the work of rescuers. Specialists are developing and updating expert software products for responding to emergencies and managing their elimination. Research in the field of artificial intelligence and computer vision has also begun.
In Belarus, intelligent systems for searching for victims in water and early detection of fires have already been created. These developments are currently undergoing experimental testing.
Additionally, Belarusian specialists are working on equipment for rescuers, fire automation, improving methods for eliminating emergencies on electric transport, and the training system for Ministry of Emergency Situations employees.
