Belarusian skiers and snowboarders admitted to international competitions, but only in neutral status
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has determined the rules for the participation of Belarusian and Russian athletes in international competitions in the 2026/27 season.

Belarusian and Russian skiers, snowboarders, as well as their support staff, will be able to compete in individual competitions in a neutral status. For this, they must sign a declaration of neutrality and comply with the requirements set by FIS. Sanctions are provided for violations.
State symbols — flags, anthems, and uniforms with corresponding attributes — will not be allowed at competitions. Participants must also comply with all anti-doping rules.
The decision applies to alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle, and snowboarding.
After the start of the war in 2022, the IOC recommended not admitting Belarusian and Russian athletes to international competitions, which led to the almost complete isolation of sports in both countries. In 2023, the IOC proposed allowing individual athletes to participate under certain conditions, and in May 2026, it already stated that it no longer recommends restrictions for Belarusian athletes, including teams.
Following this, a number of international sports federations began readmitting Belarusian athletes to competitions on equal terms with representatives from other countries.
