“Whitetopping” — a new road repair technology — is being tested on the Mogilev highway
A new road repair technology — "whitetopping" — is being tested on the M4 highway (Minsk — Mogilev). Sergey Kabak, head of the industry road laboratory of the "BeldorNDI" institute, told about it.

The essence of the technology is that a layer of cement concrete is laid over the existing asphalt concrete pavement. This restores the load-bearing capacity of the road without completely dismantling the old structure.
According to the specialist, this method is still experimental for Belarus, although it is already widely used in many other countries. Before implementation, the technology must be adapted to local climatic and operational conditions.
One of the main advantages of "whitetopping" is that there is no need to dismantle the existing pavement. All previous layers of the road structure are used as a base. After calculating the required strength, the necessary thickness of the new concrete layer is determined.
According to specialists, this approach allows for faster and more cost-effective repairs, as well as increasing the durability and service life of the road pavement.
