Just yesterday, Aryna Sabalenka was opening tennis courts in Minsk and signing autographs, and today one of them is already being sold on a Belarusian marketplace, writes Onliner.by.
On Tuesday, the world's number one female tennis player opened several tennis courts near school №86 in Kazlova lane, conducted a master class and, of course, signed autographs. Though not everyone was lucky: she didn't sign for every person present.
Shortly after the event concluded, Threads users noticed that someone had already put a card with Aryna's autograph up for sale online. The seller did not name a price, but asked for offers to be sent in private messages.
If one of the screenshots published in Threads is to be believed, the owner of the card refused to sell it for 10 rubles, stating that they had already been offered 500.
Social media users had mixed reactions to the autograph sale. Here are a few messages:
"Personally, I don't see any value in a purchased autograph. Like, what's the point? The important thing here is the emotion of coming, seeing, getting an autograph. But people want to profit from everything. And, I think, there will be those who buy it."
"Only bad words come to mind. I have two autographs that she signed for me right there. But I would never sell them in my life. And it's not even just that; it's sad that children/people who couldn't get even one autograph there are forced to see this."
"For someone, it was the meeting of a lifetime, and they couldn't make it, especially for the children it's upsetting. And someone else went for an autograph just to resell it the next day..."
An Onliner journalist wrote to the seller, who confirmed that they were ready to sell the card for 500 rubles.
A tennis ball is also allegedly for sale.
