On Cat Day, people pay tribute to these animals for their merits, demonstrating their respect and love for them.
The day began to be celebrated in 2002, conceived by the international fund Animal Welfare. However, in some countries, this holiday is celebrated on other days.
For example, in Japan, Cat Day is celebrated on February 22. This is due to the fact that in Japanese, a cat's meow is rendered as "nyan-nyan-nyan". "Nyan" can also mean "two", and "two-two-two" can be interpreted as February 22 (the second month). On this day, a Cat Day festival is held in Tokyo, where animals win prizes for the most unique behavior.
