Karanik tasted fried crickets and ordered them to be included in the menu of the Academy of Sciences' canteen
Scientists are going to talk about the nutritional properties of crickets and worms and treat everyone at a special festival.
An unusual video appeared on the Instagram of Uladzimir Karanik, Chairman of the National Academy of Sciences. In it, the official, along with his deputy Aliaksandr Trukhanau, are eating deep-fried crickets. Trukhanau calls this an alternative source of protein.
The exotic snack seemed tasty to Karanik, and he even suggested to his subordinate to think about sauces and include the insects in the menu of the Academy of Sciences' cafe.
Then Aliaksandr Trukhanau told Karanik that at the science festival, which will take place in early September in the Botanical Garden, the NAS of Belarus will organize a lecture series where they will talk about the nutritional value of crickets and worms. In addition, it is announced that anyone interested will be able to taste several alternative protein sources.
