Alexander Lukashenka advised Belarusians to pay attention to huting and more actively acquire empty houses and plots in small settlements, away from the city bustle. He stated this at a meeting on providing the rural population with a wide range of goods, BelTA writes.
He noted that Belarus is developing key rural settlements — agrotowns and large villages. New roads are being repaired and built there, and requirements for trade services in rural areas are constantly being increased.
He is confident that in the future, it is agrotowns and large villages (former centers of collective farms and state farms) that will remain and develop. This is convenient for trade, as they are mostly located near major roads. However, small villages may partially disappear or transform into other formats.
One of them is a modern, trendy direction like huting. He said it has already become widespread in Belarus, but so far mainly thanks to Russians (in Russian, "izbing").
"There are plenty of vacant spots," Lukashenka noted.
"It turns out, Russians — they heard Father — are buying up these plots. Especially since Belarus has a developed system of roads — railway and automobile, everything is there. And they are buying up empty houses, renovating them, putting them in order, demolishing some," he said. "But Belarusians don't hear me."
