Daughter of Russian general, responsible for mobilization, helps evade military service for money

Moscow law firm Budovnits Family Law Agency, which specializes in family and civil law, additionally offers services to conscripts. Among them are obtaining deferments, appealing summonses, arranging exemptions from mobilization, and legal support for leaving Russia, Meduza reports .

All these issues are supervised by the firm's employee Katerina Burdinskaya. According to leaked data, Katerina Burdinskaya is likely the daughter of Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

Their kinship is indirectly confirmed by the facts that she lived with the general in the same apartment, and was born in Baltiysk during the period when he commanded a marine brigade stationed there.

Since 2018, General Burdinsky himself has headed the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff — meaning it is he who is responsible for mobilization and conscription into the Russian army.

In 2022, Burdinsky promised not to send conscript soldiers to the front, but this was not fulfilled.

In June 2023, the Russian Ministry of Defense published and immediately deleted from its website Burdinsky's report on mobilization, in which he stated that the army had problems with the "unwillingness of part of society to fulfill military duty." Burdinsky blamed "informational pressure from the network blogger community" for this.

In the same year 2023, Burdinsky was tasked with recruiting prisoners for the front, wrote the Telegram channel "Rybar", created by former employee of the Russian Ministry of Defense press service Mikhail Zvinchuk.

Katerina Burdinskaya has no legal education or experience as a lawyer — previously she worked as a sales manager in the field of polymers and fuel.
