Polish President Karol Nawrocki, in a speech dedicated to the anniversary of his time in office, noted that assistance to Ukraine, particularly in its fight against Russia, is in Warsaw's strategic interests, but on historical issues, he deems it necessary to stand his ground, reports "European Pravda".
In the part of his speech dedicated to Ukraine, Nawrocki stated that he considers it necessary to continue supporting Kyiv in its fight against Russian aggression, because Ukraine's success is in Poland's strategic interests.
"Poland's interest is for Ukraine and the Ukrainian military to deal with the post-Soviet Russian Federation as effectively as possible and keep it as far away from Poland as possible. This is obvious, it is Poland's state strategy. Let them kill the "Soviets" who attacked them... In this, they can always count on our help, because where the Muscovite is beaten - Poland helps, even if it does not directly participate in the war. This is in Poland's strategic interests," Nawrocki said.
"But it is also in Poland's strategic interests that Bandera flags do not fly either in Warsaw or in Poland. We can help, and we can demand; we can cooperate as partners and reach mutual understanding on fundamental issues... We will help, but always with the words: Poland first, Poles first," he stated.
