In the Maladzyechna district, local traffic police officers were forced to stop a Volkswagen minibus driven by a drunk man with gunfire, reports the traffic police department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

The traffic police patrol signaled the driver to stop, but he ignored the demand and continued driving. Inspectors began a pursuit and repeatedly demanded he stop, but the offender tried to escape.
Police officers decided to use their service weapons. After aimed shots at the wheels, the car stopped.
Behind the wheel was a 39-year-old local resident. He showed clear signs of alcoholic intoxication. A medical examination revealed 1.4 per mille of alcohol.
The man now faces deprivation of driving rights for five years and a fine of 200 basic units, which amounts to 9 thousand rubles.
The offender was placed in a temporary detention center, and the car was sent to a guarded parking lot.
