Opera singer Margarita Levchuk has been living in Ukraine for several years. In 2024, she married Ukrainian serviceman Ruslan Karniyka, and in the same year, the couple had a son.

Previously, the family lived in Kharkiv, which is where Margarita's chosen one is from. Now the singer has announced that they have moved to Kyiv.

«Thank you Kharkiv for two happy years. We hope our life in Kyiv will be even more interesting and happy,» Margarita wrote on social media.

Recently, the singer received the Francysk Skaryna medal from Tsikhanouskaya and the United Transitional Cabinet. In 2020, she supported the protests, and after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, she traveled with musicians to perform for Ukrainian servicemen at the front.

Despite her clear anti-war stance and her husband serving in the Ukrainian army, Levchuk had to face restrictions due to her Belarusian passport. Recently, for example, she recounted how she was denied a housing loan. And to obtain Ukrainian permanent residency, she was subjected to a polygraph test.
