Scooter Rider Dies After Hitting Head on Tram Tracks

The accident happened on one of the summer nights in Minsk, at the intersection of Masherava and Storozhovskaya streets.

According to witnesses, an intoxicated man fell from a scooter and, upon falling, hit his head on tram tracks, after which he stopped moving, reports the State Committee of Forensic Examinations.

Thanks to resuscitation efforts by the ambulance crew that arrived at the scene, cardiac activity was restored. The man was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, but died seven days later without regaining consciousness.

A forensic medical examination determined that the man's death resulted from a combined blunt force trauma to the body (multiple scratches and bruises on the face and body, a comminuted fracture of the nose and a cervical vertebra, hemorrhages and spinal cord injuries), which progressed into a coma, the development of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (impairment of two or more organ functions) and a number of other complications.
