Former Chief of the General Staff, Major General Pavel Muraveika, has been dismissed from military service to the reserve due to age, with the right to wear military uniform and insignia. This is stated in Decree No. 327 of September 28 on his appointment as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, which was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.
According to sub-paragraph 210.1 of paragraph 210 of the Regulations on the procedure for military service, a serviceman is dismissed upon reaching the maximum age for military service. In this case, the maximum age for military service is 55 years, and Muraveika turned 55 on September 26.
