Prosecutor General: 2500 people convicted in political criminal cases in one and a half years
«Law enforcement agencies are taking measures to bring to criminal responsibility all individuals who committed extremist crimes since 2020,» — stated Prosecutor General of Belarus Dmitry Hara.

In one and a half years, prosecutors supported the state prosecution in more than 2,000 criminal cases of this category against 2,500 individuals, Dmitry Hara said.
«Law enforcement agencies are taking measures to bring to criminal responsibility all individuals who committed extremist and terrorist crimes since 2020,» — he stated.
The Prosecutor General did not specify the exact number of such cases initiated by year and how much their number has decreased.
According to Hara, in 2026, prosecutors supported the state prosecution in the case against former leaders and participants of the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment.
Individuals located outside Belarus are being tried in absentia within the framework of so-called special proceedings. Since 2022, cases against more than 150 people have been referred to courts.
Hara also reminded that, according to the statements of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court recognized the United Transitional Cabinet as a «terrorist organization» and the European Humanities University as an «extremist organization».
