Previously, the director called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a fight against Satanism.

Russian director and propagandist Nikita Mikhalkov stated that the war with Ukraine was "sent" to Russia by God so that Russians would re-evaluate their values. According to Mikhalkov, what is happening was supposed to make society "wake up" and understand what truly matters in this life, reports Moscow Times.
“I understand that this phrase is quite strange, but the Lord sent us the 'SMO' so that we would come to our senses, so that we would understand what true values are worth and what they are,” he told the propagandist RT.
Reflecting on true values, the director specifically warned against an excessive craving for pleasure. According to him, it is dangerous when life begins to be measured by "the quantity and quality of entertainment."
As an illustration of his point, Mikhalkov told about an experiment with a white mouse, which, according to him, was given the opportunity to experience pleasure by pressing a button.
“Scientists conducted an experiment, they took a white mouse, connected it to something, and showed it that if you press this button — you get pleasure. It pressed it once, twice, five times, then it held the button down — and died. This is a very, so to speak, illustrative image — the feeling of a constant holiday, which has not even stopped during this time, it continues,” the propagandist stated, without specifying which scientists and when they conducted the experiment he described.
At the same time, he added, some people already understand that "it's too early to celebrate."
Mikhalkov himself is in no hurry to give up pleasures. He is the wealthiest among Russian TV propagandists: the host of "Besogon" on the "Russia" channel receives more than 270 million rubles per year (currently 3.1 million dollars). In addition, Mikhalkov has more than 2.5 billion rubles (30 million dollars) in various bank accounts, which annually bring him about a million more in interest.
In recent years, Mikhalkov has transformed from a renowned director into one of the regime's most prominent propagandists.
In the "Besogon TV" program, he disseminated anti-Western narratives and conspiracy theories, and called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a "fight against Satanism" and the "liberation of Donbas." He also insulted Russians who opposed the war and left the country.
The director maintains close relations with Vladimir Putin, whom he called a "powerful leader in world politics who recognizes historical responsibility" towards Russia.
