Dmitry Baskov appointed head of the supervisory board of HC Dinamo Minsk
Hockey club "Dinamo-Minsk" announced a change in the head of its supervisory board. Dmitry Baskov, who just today announced the end of his five-year disqualification, has become its new chairman.
Earlier, Baskov was the general director of "Dinamo-Minsk," and then headed the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation. In September 2021, the Disciplinary Board of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended him from any hockey-related activities for five years. The term of disqualification has now expired, which Baskov solemnly announced on his Telegram channel.
On September 8, 2021, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided to impose sanctions on Dmitry Baskov. He was accused of abuse of office, pressure on athletes, and involvement in the death of Roman Bondarenko on November 12, 2020, resulting in a five-year disqualification.
According to the official IIHF decision, the disqualification began on September 10, 2021, and ended on September 9, 2026.
The Supervisory Board is the highest governing body of the Dinamo-Minsk club. It was established in 2010. The Board determines the financial, transfer, and information policy of the team, and also deals with sports and personnel issues.
The updated composition of the supervisory board also includes Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Gennady Kazakevich, Chairman of BFST "Dinamo" Dmitry Balaba, Head of the National Teams Department of the Ministry of Sports Mikhail Prokopenko, and General Secretary of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Andrey Bashko.
