Book by Tatsiana Bahdanava, winner of the "Exlibris" literary contest, published
SURMA publishing house has released a new book by writer and artist Tatsiana Bahdanava. In autumn 2025, the manuscript and layout of the book "Out of Place" won the "Exlibris" literary contest, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Anatol Klyshka's birth.

"One day, Alesia moves with her family. In the new country, everything seems strange and unwelcoming to her. Will Alesia manage to find friends, fall in love with the big city, and feel at home?" — the book's annotation intrigues.
This is a touching story about emigration and finding a foothold in new circumstances, which thousands of Belarusian children have faced. However, the countries are not named in the book, so Tatsiana Bahdanava's work will be understood by young readers far beyond Belarus who find themselves in similar situations.
The book "Out of Place" is already available for purchase on the website, and will soon appear in bookstores in Warsaw (ul. Oleandrów 6/2) and Białystok (ul. Warszawska 1a).
Tatsiana Bahdanava is a Belarusian artist and author from Gomel. In 2023, her children's book "Matsiej and the Magic Dew" was published by the "Papury" publishing house.
This summer, illustrations for the English version of the book "Не на сваім месцы" ("Out of Place") reached the finals of the prestigious international Hiii Brand Illustrators Awards.
