In Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, employees of correctional colony No. 17 intercepted a cat that was used to deliver narcotic substances to the institution's territory, Euronews reports .
According to the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, two homemade fabric collars were attached to the animal. Inside them were prohibited substances intended for convicts.
The cat was noticed before it entered the colony's territory. Institution employees removed the collars from it and called a dog handler with a service dog. The dog confirmed the presence of narcotic substances.
After the inspection, the cat was released. The agency noted that the animal was not harmed. Now, Russian law enforcement is investigating who organized such an an attempt to transfer prohibited substances into the colony.
