Hundreds of lights on the water. How the first evening of the water lantern festival went in Minsk
On Friday evening, the Water Lantern Festival was held for the first time in the Central Botanical Garden. Even before the main program began, hundreds of spectators filled the banks of the lake, and as darkness fell, the water surface gradually became covered with dozens of glowing lotus flowers and paper lanterns.
Guests enjoyed a concert, light installations, a laser show, and a large glowing Moon over the lake. The main event of the evening was the mass launch of water lanterns — it was for this reason that many took their places by the water long before the event began, writes Onliner.by.
The festival continues today and tomorrow. The organizers promise the same program and remind that after the end of each evening, all lanterns are removed from the surface of the reservoir.
