Russian Air Force Commander Chaiko is alive. Of the three killed in the explosion at an elite restaurant in Moscow, only one was a visitor
The other two are a security guard and a woman who tried to carry a homemade explosive device, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee reported. 21 people were injured, 17 of them in serious condition. The target of the assassination attempt was the Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Alexander Chaiko.

In the evening, around 7:50 PM, a powerful explosion occurred near the entrance to the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow, which was reportedly heard several kilometers away. After the incident, the area around the restaurant was cordoned off by armed law enforcement officers.
According to preliminary information, a woman with an explosive device tried to enter the restaurant, where a celebratory event was taking place at the time. A security guard prevented her from entering, after which the explosion occurred.
As a result of the incident, three people died: the woman herself, a security guard, and one of the restaurant's visitors. The perpetrator of the terrorist attack was literally torn to pieces; a photo of a severed hand later appeared online.
According to the latest data, 21 people sustained injuries. The victims were diagnosed with open and closed craniocerebral injuries, chest and abdominal wounds, limb damage, burns, and other blast injuries.
Witnesses reported that after the explosion, people were evacuated from the building, with some being led out not through emergency exits. Local residents also said they saw people with bloody wounds.
In connection with the incident, the Second Night Bicycle Festival, which was supposed to take place in the evening on the Garden Ring, was cancelled. The organizers announced that the event would be rescheduled for another date.
It was previously reported that someone from the high-ranking security officials gathered guests for a banquet at Balzi Rossi that evening, and versions of who it could be were even voiced. There is no official confirmation of this information yet. However, Telegram channels write that the Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Alexander Chaiko, was celebrating his 55th birthday there. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies accuse units subordinate to Chaiko of war crimes committed since 2022, including in Bucha, Kyiv region. Before leading Russian aviation in July 2022, Chaiko commanded the troops of the Eastern Military District — precisely those that advanced on Kyiv from Belarus.
