In May 2026, inflation in Belarus was 0.1%. Services became 0.4% more expensive, non-food goods – 0.1% more expensive, and food goods became 0.2% cheaper, according to Belstat.

Among groups of goods and services, the cost of preschool services increased the most – by 5.03%. Sanatorium and wellness services (by 3.77%), non-alcoholic beverages (by 3.48%), passenger transport (by 2.08%), and home social services (by 1.76%) also became more expensive.
The largest increase among specific goods and services was shown by train travel on regional economy class lines – by 26.79%. Fresh white cabbage (by 11.89%), interregional train travel (by 5.72%), international train travel (by 5.56%), matches (by 4.75%), and mineral and drinking water (by 3.68%) also became more expensive.
At the same time, some things became cheaper. The largest price decrease was for fruit and vegetable products – by 4.1%. Footwear (by 1.73%), bicycles and motorcycles (by 1.33%), chicken eggs (by 1.1%), and tableware also became cheaper.
Among individual goods, fresh tomatoes became the cheapest – by 25.23%, cucumbers – by 17.86%, avocados – by 15.43%, bananas – by 14.67%, sweet peppers – by 12.3%, as well as garlic (by 5.94%) and some types of leather footwear.
