Polling stations have closed in Armenia and vote counting has begun.
Voter turnout in these parliamentary elections was 58.97% (1.477 million people), according to the CEC.
The main rival of the ruling Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's 'Civil Contract' party is the 'Strong Armenia' party of pro-Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan. The CEC refused to remove it. The commission stated that the arguments presented by supporters for the removal of 'Strong Armenia' were based mainly on assumptions and did not provide sufficient grounds for such a decision. Karapetyan himself is under house arrest on charges of public calls for the violent seizure of power.
A total of 16 parties and 2 alliances participated in the elections.
