Academy of Intellectual Technologies officially created. Why and how will they teach there?
Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the creation of the Academy of Intellectual Technologies. The new institution will start training specialists on September 1, 2027. Education will be conducted in the fields of natural sciences, industrial and digital technologies, as well as other promising specialties.
A separate selection procedure in the form of a republican competition is provided for admission to the academy. School graduates, college students, university students, enterprise specialists, and scientists will be able to participate in it. Preliminary stages of the competition will be held in Minsk, regional centers, and major cities.
Candidates will need to present their own idea, development, invention, or rationalization proposal.
Those who pass the preliminary selection will be able to participate in the final stage. It will take place directly at the academy in the format of a practical intensive. Participants will complete individual and group tasks, publicly defend their projects, and pass an internal entrance exam.
Leading scientists and lecturers, as well as managers and specialists from enterprises with significant achievements in science, innovation, and production, are planned to be involved in teaching. Educational programs can be modified taking into account the needs of specific industries. Students will also be able to independently choose special courses, a related specialization, or a specialty.
Part of the training will take place directly at enterprises. Students will work on real production tasks, engage in project and research activities independently or in groups. It is assumed that the result will be specific products and developments that can be implemented in the economy or commercialized.
Successfully tested experimental educational programs and modern teaching methods in the academy are planned to be used in other educational institutions as well.
After completing their studies, students will have to pass a state exam, as well as defend a startup project or an applied research paper.
The academy's activities will be monitored by a supervisory board headed by the Minister of Education. It will also include heads of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the High-Tech Park.
It is declared that the creation of the academy should form an interdisciplinary scientific and educational environment focused on practical results and a close connection between education and the real sector of the economy.
