Sabalenka eliminated from WTA-1000 tournament in Toronto

The loss was Sabalenka's sixth unsuccessful tournament this season.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka lost in the 1/8 final stage of the Toronto competition to Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (19th in the WTA ranking). For the Belarusian, this is already the fifth defeat in ten personal meetings with Alexandrova.

In the quarter-finals, Alexandrova will play against Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.

The lost "thousand" tournament became Sabalenka's sixth unsuccessful tournament this season out of nine in which she participated.
