A rave party "Gorkovskaya Metro Station", which the creative association of the same name from Russia's Nizhny Novgorod planned to hold on August 15, has been canceled in Minsk. The organizers reported that the previously obtained touring certificate was revoked two weeks later, and they were never given an official reason, writes "Zerkalo".
The party was supposed to take place in the art space "ECHO" on the territory of the Minsk Luch plant. Tickets cost from 105 to 205 rubles.
The organizers announced the cancellation on August 8.
"Yesterday evening, the administration made a final decision to cancel a number of events, including ours. We have not yet received an official reason," the team's message says.
The post does not specify which administration made the decision to cancel the party. However, touring certificates for events in Minsk are issued by the cultural department of the Minsk City Executive Committee – the Culture Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
According to them, preparations for the Minsk event began back in February, when the organizers submitted documents to obtain a touring certificate.
"After 6 months, our application was reviewed, we received permission and made the announcement. Two weeks later, the certificate was revoked, and ticket sales were suspended. Our team and event partners in Minsk fought to save the invested efforts and hold the planned event. But, unfortunately, these efforts were not enough," the organizers said.
The team added that they hope to hold the event in Minsk in the future after all.
"We eagerly awaited meeting the kind Belarusians and had prepared many surprises. But there is no room for sadness. We will go this path again, perhaps several times, so that one day in Minsk, "Gorkovskaya Metro Station" will open its weighty doors," they wrote.
Purchased tickets can be returned at the point of purchase.
