Bridge over Svislach in the center of Minsk is preparing for partial opening
The reconstruction of the bridge began on July 6.

In the near future, the movement of urban and special transport will be redirected to the renovated section of the bridge over the Svislach river on Nezavisimosti Avenue (in the area of Gorky Park). This will allow builders to promptly begin repairs on the remaining part of the structure. This became known on August 4 during an on-site meeting led by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Oleg Korzun, Minsk-news writes.
The reconstruction of the bridge began on July 6. Since it has historical and cultural value, its dimensions and appearance will remain unchanged. The number of traffic lanes will also not change.
— Specialists are working at an accelerated pace, ahead of schedule. All necessary measures have been taken for this, special events have been held, — explained Oleg Korzun. — This week, the section where work is currently being performed will be asphalted.
After that, we will "switch" the movement of urban and special (used by emergency services) transport to the already completed half. Given that two-thirds of the work has already been done, we are trying to complete the repair promptly to open the bridge in the near future.
The structure consists of three arched spans. Two of them are already at a high stage of readiness. In parallel, the restoration of granite walls and railings is underway — the structures are being cleaned of old layers of paint and repair compounds, and defect assessment is being carried out.
Sergei Panyov emphasized that all technical solutions have already been worked out on the first half of the bridge. Specialists expect that the remaining part will be repaired quickly, in the standard mode.
