A Guy in Maladzyechna Quit a Factory with a Meager Salary and Became an Ad Poster
The salary at the factory, where Andrei worked as a machine operator, was 600 rubles for an eight-hour workday. Now the main thing is that the salary should be no less than 2000 rubles.
Andrei is 21 years old. He started posting ads not because he had a good life, but because, in his opinion, he couldn't find another normal job, writes Kraj.by.
The guy graduated from college with a specialty as a machine operator, although he admits: he went to a secondary specialized educational institution not out of a great love for machines, but simply because he had to go somewhere to study.
— After college, I worked for a year at an enterprise in the Maladzyechna district. The attitude towards me was bad. They demanded a lot, but paid little, — Andrei says. — In fact, I received half of my salary. They paid me 100 rubles as an advance. I received 500 rubles as a salary. In total — about 600 rubles a month for an eight-hour workday and a five-day work week.
The foreman told me that I had to learn everything myself, sending me to other workers for help, but none of them had time for me. So I didn't really learn anything and decided that I needed to look for another job.
Andrei found out about the need for ad posters on the Internet.
The employer's office is located in Minsk. At first, Andrei only posted ads in the capital's entrances. He had to work, and still does, in different districts of the capital. He gets to the ad posting locations on his own.
— I left Maladzyechna by electric train at 07:20. By 09:20, I was already at the office. There it takes about half an hour to sort and arrange the ads. Then you spend another hour or so to get to the district where you're assigned. The ad posting itself takes about four hours. I returned to Maladzyechna by taking the electric train at 16:00 or 16:50, — our interviewee says.
— It's hard to say how much money you can earn in a month with such a schedule, — Andrei reflects. — It all depends on how many days you are willing to work in this mode.
But in a day, I earned somewhere around 45-50 rubles. This means that, without much effort and working 20 days a month, you can earn 1000 rubles. And someone who lives in Minsk takes on a larger volume of work and earns up to 2000 rubles.
As of today, Andrei has been posting ads in his native Maladzyechna for about a month, but again, under the assignment of a capital firm. The company's management is accommodating and, if there is work in Maladzyechna, allows its employee to stay in his hometown, though not every week. He still has to travel to Minsk.
— Well, when working in Maladzyechna, I receive an assignment specifying particular districts and start working on them. In my hometown, I can post ads four or five days a week and earn 400 rubles that week. This is a perfectly normal correlation between work volume and earnings, — Andrei notes.
— For example, today I'm posting six types of ads.
It's harder to work with houses that have few entrances. Accordingly, you have to go around more houses, because the number of ads remains the same. On this day, there were approximately 200 of them.
It's very important what surface you stick the ad to. Not every entrance has a wooden board. If it does, it's much more convenient because the glue holds better.
When giving an assignment, the management gives its employee a map of the city district that needs to be covered that day. As a report, the management needs to have the same map returned with the houses where ads are hanging marked with crosses. You also need to selectively send photos of the boards with your ads.
— And yesterday even the director from Minsk came to personally see the results of my work, — Andrei noted.
At the same time, the job is not the most rewarding. Far from all residents like the "decorations" on their entrances in the form of advertisements.
In the half-hour we spoke with Andrei, all the results of his work disappeared from one of the entrances. Some ruthless resident simply tore down all six ads and threw them away.
What was the funniest ad he had to post on house entrances?
Andrei smiled and said:
— I can even show you a photo of such an ad! I posted it in Minsk!
The guy said he was looking for a girlfriend, and even attached his photo. Upon closer inspection of the ad, it turns out that the charismatic and kind guy Lyosha, who is 19 years old, is "quite consciously looking for a girlfriend".
«If you like my appearance, maybe we can try to talk? Perhaps something will really come of it,» — Lyosha addresses his potential chosen one.
In Maladzyechna, there are also ads that bring a smile. Here, for example, someone is ready to buy any real estate — an apartment, a room, a share of housing. Promises to pay off debts, credits, privatization costs, and immediately make an advance payment for the property.
But at the same time, this influential real estate market participant has somehow not yet earned enough for a computer and writes his ads by hand.
Andrei's family consists of his mother and older sister. Both work. His sister, for example, works on Internet resources in Minsk.
The guy says he is ready to quit his ad-posting activity, but only if he finds a job that pays more. He is considering, for example, working as a night picker.
The main thing is that the take-home salary should be no less than 2000 rubles.
However, Andrei doubts that such a job can be found in Maladzyechna. And he completely rules out the possibility of working as a machine operator in his specialty.
