A meter-long grass snake spotted on one of Hrodna's streets PHOTOS
Residents of Dambrouski Street in Hrodna did not expect to encounter wildlife in their yard, but a rather large snake was recently spotted near house No. 47. A video of the unexpected encounter was submitted to the editorial office of Newgrodno.by.
The snake was about a meter long. Judging by its appearance, it was a common grass snake. A young girl and a child saw it. The encounter was unexpected for both the people and the reptile itself.
When the city residents noticed the snake nearby, they got scared and screamed. The sudden sound also made the grass snake nervous: it lifted the front part of its body off the ground, taking a defensive posture.
Fortunately, everything ended without consequences. No one was hurt, and the snake soon crawled away to a safer place.
Specialists remind that in warm weather, snakes may appear in the city in search of food or shelter. If you encounter them, it's best not to panic, not to make sudden movements, and not to try to catch the animal. Usually, the snake will move on by itself.
